3ie seeks Evaluation Specialist

Salary: £39,304 to £44,634 per annum, inclusive.

The International Initiative for Impact Evaluation (3ie) seeks a candidate to serve as Evaluation Specialist at the International Initiative for Impact Evaluation (3ie) London Office, which is hosted at London International Development Centre by the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine.

The Evaluation Specialist will work at the Synthesis and Reviews Office based in London to contribute to 3ie’s overall strategic goals. The International Initiative for Impact Evaluation (3ie) is an international grant-making NGO promoting evidence-informed development policies and programmes. The post holder will be based within 3ie office at the London International Development Centre (LIDC), LSHTM working with Director of Synthesis and Reviews Office or delegated manager and where practical, with the relevant country offices. The person appointed will be expected to work on evidence synthesis and impact evaluations.

The Evaluation Specialist will be supervised and appraised by the Director, Synthesis and Reviews, or their designee.

Applicants must have a Master’s degree in a relevant discipline and strong international development/ social science background with strong quantitative skills; proficiency in the use of STATA for analysis of survey data; a good understanding of the impact evaluations; experience of leading analyses for publication in the field and high levels of diplomacy and negotiating ability. Experience of working independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team is required. 

The post is full time and fixed term until 30 April 2020. The salary will be on the Academic pathways Grade 6 scale in the range £39,304 to £44,634 per annum (inclusive of London Weighting). The post will be subject to the LSHTM terms and conditions of service.  Annual leave entitlement is 30 working days per year, pro rata for part time staff. In addition to this there are discretionary “Director’s Days”. Membership of the Pension Scheme is available.
