John Westbrook was a leading disability researcher who was active in promoting the use of evidence. John initiated the creation of Campbell’s Disability Coordinating Group.
As a strong supporter of the Campbell Collaboration, John left a bequest to the Campbell Collaboration to support our work in the area of knowledge translation. This bequest has been used to create the John Westbrook Memorial Fund.
The Westbrook Fund will support the John Westbrook Prize which is awarded annually in recognition of outstanding contributions to knowledge translation (KT) and the dissemination and implementation of evidence. In 2017 the award was made posthumously to John Westbrook.
If the size of the fund permits occasional awards may also be made to support the production and use of reviews to be published by Campbell’s Knowledge Translation and Implementation Coordinating Group.
